  • 100g unsalted butter, softened
  • 80g soft brown sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150g plain flour
  • 1/2tsp baking powder
  • 1/2tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 8 Lindt milk chocolate truffles (Lindor)
  • 40g dark chocolate or edible chocolate writing pen
  • Edible sugar eyes

Recipe

Stage 1

Cream the softened butter with the brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla.

Stage 2

Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt, then mix to form a smooth dough. Chill in the fridge.

Stage 3

Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C).

Stage 4

Roll the dough into 8 balls and place on a lined baking tray. Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand.

Stage 5

Bake for 10–12 minutes. While still warm, press a Lindt truffle into the centre of each cookie. Leave to cool completely.

Stage 6

Melt the dark chocolate. Using a piping bag with a fine tip (or a cocktail stick), draw 8 little spider legs around each truffle. Stick on the sugar eyes.
