+Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Whisk the sugar and eggs together until pale and fluffy.
Add the melted butter and mix well.
Fold in the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
Stir in the lemon zest and juice.
Pour the batter into a greased cake tin and bake for 30–35 minutes.
Leave the cake to cool completely before icing.
Whisk the cream cheese, icing sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
Spread the icing over the fully cooled cake.
