  • 2 white fish fillets (cod, haddock, pollock)
  • 2tbsp of flour
  • 100ml of sparkling water
  • 1tsp of paprika (optional)
  • 1tbsp of olive oil
  • 3 medium sized potatoes
  • 1tbsp tbsp of olive oil
  • Salt, pepper and spices of your choice (paprika, mixed herbs...)

Recipe

Stage 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Stage 2

Prepare the fries: Peel the potatoes and cut them into fries.

Stage 3

Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and your chosen spices. Spread the fries out on a baking tray and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.

Stage 4

Prepare the fish: Mix the flour and sparkling water together. The batter should not be too runny—if it is, add more flour. Dust each fish fillet with flour, then dip them into the batter.

Stage 5

Place the fillets on a baking tray. Bake the fish alongside the fries for the last 15 minutes, until golden and crispy, then place under the grill for 5 minutes.

Stage 6

Serve hot, with tartar sauce and fresh lemon.
