Place the butter in a saucepan, and once it’s melted, add the popcorn kernels. The kernels should cover the bottom of the pan in a single layer for even cooking.
Put the lid on and leave it over medium heat. Wait until all the kernels have "popped."
Remove from the heat and add the sugar. Stir well!
